Wearing makeup or not, we do have to clean our face; and I mean, really well. Our skin is exposed to pollutants, impurities, and all the things that once they touch our skin, they just stay there, clogging our pores. Once the pores get clogged many skin problems, skin conditions have a base to develop dangerous situations. Yes, the word dangerous is a strong one, but I had to deal with that kind of situations during my long career as an aesthetician and working with teenagers and clients with skin problems.  If the makeup is not perfectly removed, the chemicals will aggravate the skin and we’ll see that nothing we apply on our skin, nothing will work. If the skin is not cleaned and exfoliated, nothing will penetrate the skin and it will be impossible for the good ingredients to do their job. Ideal will be to double clean your skin by using first an oil based product and after that a foaming wash designed for sensitive skin and I say this because using a foaming wash you will be able to remove mascara and eye makeup, left behind by the first makeup remover. If you are familiar with MICELLAR WATER, well this can be a safe makeup remover but I still recommend doing a second round, to be sure all the residues are gone. Rinse well with body temperature water and paper towel dry. Do not rub your skin with paper towel because the microscopic wood existent in the paper towel, can create tiny cuts into your skin. Just blot it. When the skin is still damp, apply the serums or medication if you have been prescribed some. All the thin, liquid formulations should be applied first and after that, the eye cream and the moisturizer. With sunscreen if it’s morning, to protect your skin from damaging UVA/UVB rays. And a nourishing night cream, after cleaning your face at night, of course. I personally prefer to wash my face really well before going to bed and in the morning, splashing water on my face and spraying a hydrating toner. And, of course, apply the products  I just talked about.
